Oppo is about to launch a new smartphone, called the Oppo Neo, in the mid-range sector. The smartphone will be priced at Rs.11,990 in India. The release date however is yet now known. The Oppo Neo will feature a 4.5 inch FWGA (854x480 pixels) IPS display, which the company claims to come with an improved touch-screen technology and is also compatible with Gloves put on.
In the hardware department, the Oppo Neo is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and sports 5 MP rear camera as well as a 2 MP secondary front-facing camera. The company has specifically focused on the gesture controls in the smartphone and assert that the phone will offer a gesture panel and various gesture-based controls.
At this price point, the phone will stand to compete againt the Motorola Moto G, recently launched exclusively on Flipkart which comes with a 4.5 inch HD display and a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor priced at Rs.12,499 for the 8 GB variant.
